Iron Workers Applaud DOL Proposal to Update Enforcement of Wage Standards

Mar 11, 2022

The Iron Workers applaud Secretary Marty Walsh and the U.S. Department of Labor’s efforts to update the enforcement of Davis-Bacon and other standards designed to protect workers’ wages. Today’s announcement launches the first serious review of these regulations in over 40 years and the proposed changes will restore middle class wages for working people.

As Secretary Walsh stated, “These proposed regulations are good for workers, good for building high-quality infrastructure and for ensuring we have a strong construction industry, as we rebuild America.” Working people everywhere, including ironworkers, will benefit from updating and strengthening these standards.

The Iron Workers applaud the Department of Labor and the Biden administration for their continued commitment to ensure working people are a priority rather than an afterthought.
