Ron was initiated into former Local 114 (Tacoma, Wash.) on February 1, 1974, and gained journeyman status March 1, 1976. His membership was transferred into Local 86 (Seattle, Wash.) on April 1, 1999. He has served Local 86 as executive board member; recording secretary; president; JATC chairman; business manager/financial secretary-treasurer; Pierce County Building Trades president; president of the Pacific Northwest District Council from 2000 until present; and elected chairman of the Pacific Northwest Retirement, Annuity and Apprenticeship Trust Funds in 2001 to present. Ron was appointed general organizer by General President Jake West in 1999. General President Walter Wise has appointed General Organizer Ron Piksa as ninth general vice president, effective March 20, 2011. Ron has also served on the Credentials Committee at the 38th Convention; Rules Committee at the 40th Convention; Secretary Rules Committee at the 41st Convention; International Light Metal Building committee; and IMPACT long term task force. Brother Piksa received special recognition by General President John L. Lyons as outstanding apprentice to participate in the Bicentennial Celebration in Washington D.C., June 29 through July 12, 1976.
